# KAIO Platform

### Overview

This section covers the KAIO platform and how each user type interacts with tokenised funds, through the web application and the API. It provides:

* **How-Tos** — step-by-step guides for common tasks such as creating subscription and redemption orders, confirming orders, signing agreements and monitoring holdings.
* **Pages** — a reference for each page available in the web application and the actions you can perform on them.
* **References** — the complete list of API calls available to each user type, with links to the live Postman collection.

Coverage differs by user type.&#x20;

### **Using the KAIO Website**

The KAIO platform can be used through the web application or directly through the API. The web app gives a graphical interface for placing orders, reviewing investments and managing accounts. The API exposes the same operations programmatically, plus advanced functions such as bulk onboarding and custom compliance modules.

What you can do depends on your user type.

#### **User types**

<table><thead><tr><th width="188.99993896484375">Type</th><th>Responsible for</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Investor</strong></td><td>Viewing accessible funds and instruments, creating and managing their own orders where permitted</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Dealer / Distributor</strong></td><td>Onboarding investors, managing their profiles, and creating orders on their behalf</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Service Providers</strong></td><td>Managing funds and instruments, publishing NAV, approving or rejecting orders</td></tr></tbody></table>

### **Object Definitions**

To help orient new users, the following terms are used throughout the guides:

<table><thead><tr><th width="114">Term</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Instrument</strong></td><td>A specific tokenised share class within a fund. Instruments encapsulate custom logic (subscription windows, redemption rules, fees).</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Order</strong></td><td>A request to subscribe to or redeem an instrument</td></tr></tbody></table>

### **Order lifecycle**

`CREATED` → `CONFIRMED` → `LOCKED` → `SETTLED`

An order may be `CANCELLED` or `REJECTED` at any point before settlement.

### **API reference**

The full API specification is published as interactive Swagger documentation at the link below. It lists every endpoint, request and response schema, and can be called directly from the browser.

The per-user References pages below map each operation to the user type permitted to perform it, with links to the live Postman collection.
